About PTJ
PTJ Catering was established by Tom Jones in 2016 and specialises in creating bespoke dinner parties in your own home.
I have been cooking as long as I can remember. My first experience of a kitchen was working as pot wash at The Bull in Beaumaris! Thankfully I moved up the ladder and I worked part time as a chef through university where I studied Sport Science. I was lucky enough to work under James Riley at Rileys in Hoylandswaine, South Yorkshire and also Pierre Tanguy at Rita Britton’s Pollyanna Boutique - both very formative and valuable experiences. The combined experience of working in professional kitchens and learning about nutrition led me to creating my own recipes. My business grew naturally as I started cooking for friends and word spread.
I spend a lot of my time creating feasts for hen parties, birthday parties, corporate events and weddings, but I am always up for a challenge and take on all sorts of requests.
I have been lucky enough to cook for Aldi, Jones Homes, Harron Homes and some of the cast from Geordie Shore.
2020 has been a strange year which has of course been disruptive to business, but I have spent my time building a new kitchen in Huddersfield, making up takeaway picnics and producing free meals for my local NHS Trust in the first lockdown.
